The Nokia E71x from ATT came loaded with a bunch of useless software, it costs money and it is totally useless, but the most annoying thing is that it can’t be removed easily! I am sure you tried to mve the folders around and delete some stuff, but you obviously could not. Fortunately, here is a tutorial that explains you very carefully how to removed all this software from ATT, read it carefully and don’t miss any step, at the end, you will have a clean Nokia E71x, more or less like the E71 itself, so here goes to tutorial:
We all agree that the Nokia E71 is a very expensive device, I almost paid $400us for my E71 and as I paid so much for it, I do my best to keep the E71 in the best condition possible, I always try not to drop it or put it in my bag or pockets with coins etc… that could scratch it. But unfortunately it is almost impossible to avoid a scratch on a dedvice we all use almost all day long, my E71 was clean of scratches and dents the first two months, but now I have dropped it twice and it got one bad scratch and other minor scratches around the screen. As I really wanted to keep my E71 working as new and without scratches or dents, I first used the leather case that came with it but it did not work. I used it for 3 days and I just got tired of it because it added weight to my pockets and I had to get the E71 out every time I wanted to do something, on top, it was not helping since my E71 got scratched a little bit because of the friction and small particles that got caught between the E71 and the leather case.
I then searched for a solution and I found a pretty good one! It is invisible Shield and works just as the name says, it is an invisible virtually indestructible film that covers the whole E71 and it is just like an ”Invisible shield” because you don’t feel it is there, so no weight or lame cases, but it is still protecting your device from scratches and dents! As you probably noticed, the E71 does not have a regular 3.5mm Audio Jack, instead it has a 2.5mm Audio Jack which is a pain if you like to hear music. There are some adapters available but really… They look awful. Solution?? A Bluetooth Headset!!! No wires, no Audio Jack, No worries!!

The BH-604 produce a sound with a very high quality, the sound is deep and bass sounds just great. When I change them for my regular earbuds it takes me a while to get used again to the low bass and not-deep sound, the BH-604 is HI-FI. Another great thing about the 604′s is that they are recharrgable, with just 10 minutes of charging you get 10 HOURS OF Talk Time!! Unbelievable. They also bring a nice pouch.
In conclusion the BH-604′s are the best companion for the E71 when you are a music freak! I am a music freak and let me tell you, this ones are the best ones I have tried!
Luckily the E71 has an amazing and comfortable QWERTY keyboard, and for fast on the go texting it does an amazing job, but for longer emails, articles and even journalism the keyboard is just not enough. By the way, did you know that Reuters uses Nokia devices and portable keyboards to take pictures and then send the story for fast publishing? Reuters journalists usually use the SU-8W to write their articles while on the go, because of the SU-8W portability it can be taken to the most remote places. To power the SU-8W there is a little slot to inster two AAA batteries, but alhtough one could thing that they drain really fast they proved to be very durable and resistant. That is why Reuters Journalists use the SU-8W for their work.
So going back to the topic, the E71 has a nice keyboard, but there is another option for power users, it is called the Nokia SU-8W. The Nokia SU-8W is afull computer sized Bluetooth foldable portable QWERTY keyboard. When folded the SU-8W fits easily in any pocket and its weight is considerable to take it anywhere. With the SU-8W ht E71 becomes a full computer, the experience is great and I found the SU-8W very efficient to complete multiple tasks, I even write full posts and articles with just my E71 and the SU-8W
The SU-8W has a S60 button for fast menu access, a Messaging button and the D-Pad as well as both soft keys, the Nokia SU-8W can control the E71 entirely, there is no need to touch the device once that those are paired. The Nokia SU-8W also has a really cool POP OUT stand to stand the E71. The stand is really useful for other tasks as well, for exapmple to leaave it on your desk or your night table to put your E71 as an alarm clock. You definitevely should consider a SU-8W, it has worked great for me and makes the experience more DESKTOP-LIKE. Enjoy this pictures!
We tend to care about our toys, such as the E71 which is not that cheap, but sometimes we are not that careful and we drop our E71′s or even spill them with Coke, water, etc…
That happens a lot, and most people think that after the scratch on the screen is made, it is made and there is no turn back. Well there is a solution, in fact there is a solution even if you scratch your E71 everywhere. The solution I found is really easy, change the whole case (housing) of the phone and done! it is like brand new again. To change the housing you don’t need a technical center or a tech savvy person, just anyone can do it with pacience and care. The process is really easy, basically you take away the old housing and put the new one. In fact you can even change the color, if you have the Grey E71 you can put the white E71 housing and done!! The E71 comes with a 1500mAh battery that lasts around 410 hours of standard time, the battery life in the E71 is good, but still there are some tasks that drain it pretty fast. GPS navigation is one of those, if you navigate using the GPS very often your E71 runs out of power in hours, other task that drains the battery is the HSDPA (3G), when you browse internet too much or retrieve the email very often the E71′s battery drains faster, also when you tether your E71 with your MAC or PC the battery won’t last that long. Sometimes I found myself in situations where I could use my E71, but I don’t because the battery won’t last till the end of the day. All this lead me to find a solution, and after some research I found it!.
